On Texting
For there is no greater treasure than a true friend...

There was a time when correspondence meant something special. A letter written by hand expressed thought, took time, and spoke of a friendship between you and the person you were corresponding with. It was a matter of pride and respect to draft a letter in which you expressed your thoughts in elevated terms that leant significance to what you were saying, and respect and affection to whomever you were writing.
How special it was to go to the mail box and find a letter written to you from a friend; to exchange ideas and catch up on lost time. It seems we are all too busy these days for such sentiments, but I fear that something valuable has been lost in the process. Friendship is worth the investment of time and effort. For there is no greater treasure than a true friend.
We often say, "God knows my heart, He knows that I am busy and that I don't always have time to attend church, pray or read my Bible." Let's not relegate God to a "texting" relationship; a brief word every now and then, just to let Him know that we are thinking about Him. Instead, let's honor Him with our most valuable treasure: time! He is a friend worth having, and keeping.
God won't impose on you to show Him affection and respect by demanding your time, but remember, He is your creator and savior. No one is more deserving of your time, than He.
WRITE GOD A LETTER!
